How to use it honestly

Getting Useful Numbers Out of This.

The output is only as good as what you put in. Three suggestions:

  1. Use your own cost per lead if you have one. It is in your ad account. If you have never run ads, this figure is the least reliable input and the model is best treated as a shape rather than a forecast.
  2. Be pessimistic about the qualified rate. Most businesses overestimate it. Count how many of last month's enquiries you would genuinely have wanted a site visit for.
  3. Use your median project value, not your best one. One exceptional project distorts an average badly, and planning around it produces a budget you cannot sustain.

What the model does not include

Agency or management fees, your own team's time, delivery costs, or the margin on a project. The final figure is potential project value, not profit — a distinction worth keeping in front of you when the number looks encouraging.

A more useful way to read it

Rather than asking "what would this budget produce?", try the reverse. Set the project value and conversion rates to your reality, then adjust spend until the customer count matches what your team could actually deliver. That number is your realistic ceiling — and it is often lower than the budget people plan.
